The DuBois Monument

Renovation project will breathe new life into campus landmark

A project scheduled to begin on July 25 will rejuvenate the area around the DuBois Monument, with landscape improvements, lighting and a new fence. Situated above the Penn State DuBois campus on what is referred to as Monument Hill, the granite statue marks the grave site of John DuBois, who founded the town of DuBois, and is topped by a figure of a woman said to represent hope.

Starr Hill Winery makes $1,000 donation to Penn State DuBois student programs

Starr Hill Winery of Curwensville recently made a $1,000 donation to support student programs at Penn State DuBois. The winery offers a "Vintner for a Day" package each year at the campus' Lion Wine and Cheese fundraising auction. The winning bidder then gets the chance to produce and bottle their own wine at the winery with a portion of sales of that wine coming back to campus. This donation is a portion of the proceeds from last year's wine named "DuBois Double Play."
